Your Presence is a Present.
Phubbing (pron: fubbing): a recently invented word to describe ignoring (snubbing) the person in front of you by being on your mobile phone.
Being present for someone means putting down your damn phone. Put it away, turn it off or switch it to flight mode. If you’re waiting for an organ donor to come through — something genuinely urgent and important — let the person you’re with know why you’re keeping your phone close. Otherwise, putting it out of sight (and hearing) lets a person know they have your full attention and maybe they’ll follow suit!
