Why are you not doing the thing you say you want to do?

The Art of Dreaming

Have you ever had a dream come true? It can feel like magic, especially when something that we’ve desired for a long time suddenly appears.

In the 1950s, psychiatrist Carl Jung first spoke about synchronicity which the Oxford Dictionary now defines as:

“… a simultaneous occurrence of events which appear significantly related but have no discernible causal correlation.”

I would argue that, whilst on the surface there may appear to be “no discernible causal correlation,” on deeper investigation, you’ll likely discover those dreams have been in the making for some time. People may call you lucky or even “an overnight success,” yet you’ve been dreaming about and working towards this outcome for years.

“May the path rise up to meet you” is a traditional Irish blessing and when we take action, the Universe responds.

Michelle, a mental health professional from Bellingen, New South Wales, Australia and a participant in my 21% More Joy in 21 Days online program, had recently lost her dog, Maya. Maya had been central to Michelle’s happiness. Towards the end of the program, she decided to register her name with a breeder for a new puppy.

Having something to look forward to is one of the keys to a more joyful life.

Michelle didn’t hesitate to sign up for my first Land Your Dreams workshop, where we spent an hour exploring how to realise our dreams, taking them from conception to manifestation. Michelle spoke about how much she was looking forward to her new pup and how significant her connection with animals has always been. Michelle also shared that she wanted to move toward leaving her long-term job but first needed to find or create an abundant new income stream.

The next day, Michelle called me with exciting news. She’d previously enquired about a program to become a companion dog trainer. The organisation had just contacted her with a deal on the accreditation at 50% off if she was a good fit. Michelle spoke about working for decades in mental health, losing her beloved Maya and her lifelong connection with animals. The rep asked her to hold the line. When the rep returned, she said, “I’ve just asked my supervisor if it’s okay to forgo my commission and offer you the program at 75% off.”

How cool is that!

“I can’t believe it,” Michelle enthused, “Just last night in the workshop I talked about wanting a career change and my deep connection with animals and today, this happened!”

It wasn’t that Michelle couldn’t afford the fees: it was more that once she declared her dream, the Universe responded. The path rose up to meet her.

What long-held dream are you ready for? What step can you take, no matter how small, in the direction of your dreams?

May the path rise up to meet you!
